Groundwork is the foundational phase of construction or renovation that prepares a site for building or landscaping. It involves several key tasks, starting with excavation to level the site, create foundations, and install utilities. an organized and tidy site leads to a more efficient and productive environment.

With the mud cleared away, we can now work in a clean and dry space.

Grading and leveling ensure the ground is properly prepared for drainage and creates a solid base for construction, while foundation work involves pouring concrete or laying other materials for stability.

Additionally, drainage systems and utility installations are set up to manage water flow and provide essential services like water, gas, and electricity. 👍

Here’s the shed project at the Jubilee Centre in Sandwich, Kent. The Jubilee Centre provides a safe and welcoming community space, supporting a wide variety of clubs and societies in Sandwich.

We began by constructing bases for the containers, followed by laying down paving and tidying the edges. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this fantastic project, which will benefit the local community for years to come

We restructured the corner of this building to transform a small rear kitchen into a spacious kitchen-diner-living area. The space is enhanced by seven electronic Velux windows, allowing natural light to flood in from every direction. The addition of a hardwood floor perfectly complements the modern, open design.

We ensured the pebble dashing matched the original building, maintaining harmony with the surrounding area. To complement the existing structure, we used Kent peg tiles from the original roof to clad the sides of the L-shaped dormer, which now houses a spacious master bedroom, a large landing, and a generously sized en-suite bathroom.

The roof of this property in Deal required attention due to the shrinkage of the roof trusses over time, which caused the tiles at the verge and party wall to lift, leading to water ingress. While the old felt remained intact for a period, the battens had begun to rot.

To address this, we stripped the roof, levelled the trusses by individually packing them with timber cut to the appropriate thickness. We then installed new felt and battens, retiled the roof with fresh tiles, and re-bedded the ridge and verge tiles. Additionally, we replaced the flashing around the gas flues and soil pipes. Another successful project completed by our team. 💪
